When we first started using Facebook, did we ever imagine how much it would impact our lives? I know I didn't. Facebook has been my key to keep in communication with my family in Mexico, even meet family members inside and outside the country. Stay in touch with one of my good friend's in Brazil, and my church mentors in Los Angeles. Although Facebook has been such an amazing way to stay in touch with family and friends, it also has it's cons. Like? Well, for example, checking my Facebook app, once I wake up, even at a red light when I'm driving. Or even falling at the mall parking lot, for checking my profile and not paying attention.
But, it also counts with a few pros! like?
Other than keeping in touch with family and friends, it's also a good way to keep updated with what's going on in the community, country, and the world. Thanks to the LIKE pages for different news and newspaper pages. But where did Facebook come from? According to the website, About.com Facebook was invented by Harvard science student, Mark Zuckerberg, along with classmates Eduardo Severin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The origins to the name hints as to the history of Facebook, however, the website was originally and briefly called Facemash.

So when was Facebook launched? According to the website, About.com Facebook was launched On February 4, 2004, Mark Zuckerberg relaunched with a new website "Thefacebook". In 2004, an angel investor, Sean Parker (founder of Napster) became the company's president. The company changed the name from TheFacebook to just Facebook after purchasing the domain name facebook.com in 2005 for $200,000.

10 years later, we ask ourselves. How many users does Facebook have? According to Yahoo news, Facebook has 1.11 billion users.
So what do I think about the future of this social network? I think that Facebook will continue to grow as time passes by. Because it’s such a great way to communicate all around the world, and it’s also being used by lots of media. Tv shows, magazines, authors, books, ect have Facebook Like pages and interact with many users. But, I guess we will find out in the next few years.
